I purchased these tires for my GMC Yukon (like Tahoe) new at Costco. They were 7 years old with about 8/32nd of tread left.

I liked them and thought they were wearing well, but with about 30,000 miles on them, Costco because of the cracking claimed that they were unsafe and refused to rotate or service them any longer. Michelin would do absolutely nothing for me because they were over 6 years old. I have had tires on classic cars over 20 years with no cracking and my wife's car has Michelins older than these with no cracking what so ever. These tires are faulty and should have been recalled.

Do not think for a second that Michelin will stand behind their products. They discontinued (renamed) this tire for a reason. They recalled some in 2013 for the same fault, why not these? Customer service was a joke.

When I slammed them on their survey they called me to back to tell me that the tires were over 6 years old again and offered me nothing. Bunch of idiots, leave me alone or do something for me. They have lost a loyal customer and I hope they lose more.

Had they offered me some kind of assistance I would have bought a new set. I will never buy another Michelin product again.

Their warranty covers the tire for its usable tread life OR 6 years, whichever comes first. Why do you expect them to cover the tire at 7 years?

Because they may want me to buy another set one day? FYI, I am still driving on them, they have been to FL and back to MI and they are fine.

Another major tire chain rotated them for me, checked them out and said that they were usable. I will never buy tires from Costco again nor Michelins.

Yep had the same thing happen to my tires, sidewalls developed crack.Michelin ltx ,wont buy again

Respectfully, mileage is irrelevant because tires are no longer considered DOT safe 5 years after manufacture. No reputable shop will mount/service tires of this age because the rubber breaks down chemically and is not safe to carry your 2-ton machine at highway speeds.

This is an industry standard across ALL manufacturers and retailers, not just Costco and Michelin.

If you read your warranty, this is explicitly stated. It's just like car manufacturer warranties, you get a certain mileage or number of years from purchase and when ONE of those lapses, you are out of warranty.

I'm sorry, but they are right on this one.

I think both of you are dumb trolls. This is America, we can be dumb & make trollish decisions, and call one another names. Posted by a fellow dumb troll.

Seven years old with 30K miles and you feel you are entitled to warranty coverage LMAO. Are you the dumbest person ever or a troll -- it's a toss up.

I think you are the troll, do you work for Michelin? I spent almost $1000 for the tires and they were supposed to last 70,000 miles.

Same experience with tires that were only 4 years old, would not purchase again.

Sorry to hear that, mine may have happened sooner as well, I had not had them serviced for 2 years prior due my low mileage use.
